About our products
Over time our product range has developed and expanded by trial and customer feedback. Our general philosophy is to not only produce work that has a visual sense of beauty but also a has a strong tactile quality which naturally encourages visitors to the showroom and at the events to pick up and handle and want to purchase.
Our aim is not to be elitist making practical everyday items from a mini wedge at 50p to the attractive one off gallery pieces that may be out of the reach of some pockets but can be admired nevertheless.

We have a wide range of wood products (see list) from locally sourced dependable timber or occasionally recycled material. Although very much reliant on availability the main varieties of hardwood usually are ash, beech, oak, sycamore and yew with occasional fruit woods, holly and boxwood. Two main categories are “one off pieces” such as lamps, large bowls and platters etc. where the illustrations are examples only and “repeatable items” which will mostly be in stock. So we have to make a distinction between items which “can be ordered now” and “enquire about availability”.

All our turnery is made by hand – we do not have copy lathes or automatics. There is a very recognisable difference between mass produced and individual work which you can see and feel. All our items will have slight variations which is to some extent the nature of wood. Although most of our products are turned on the lathe, a sizeable proportion of our stock is made by other means,. The primary example is the range of animals cut out on the jigsaw, also the house signs, chopping boards, door wedges and coasters are all non turned items. Some of the large lamps and mushrooms incorporate carving.
