About us
We are a family woodturning and woodcraft business established in 1992, initially with a workshop at our hillside home a few miles from the Mid Wales town of Machynlleth where we sold most of what we produced locally. In time we decided to try a few shows, at first with mixed results but soon found events that were both enjoyable and successful.
In 2000 we relocated to larger premises in the Mid Wales market town of Rhayader close to the beautiful Elan Valley. The new location is much more accessible for visitors to the workshop and showroom and closer to most of our events.
John Cole the founder of the business is a graduate of the Royal College of Art with over 25 years of experience in art and design education. In his early years he sold hand carved bowls to shops and galleries in London such as Heals and Harrods. His son Lawrence, a graduate of Pershore College in Worcestershire, had a few years in the landscape design and construction industry before joining the business in 1997.
